The beautiful weather last week gave our London Boat Show competition winners, Simon perry and his family, the opportunity to collect their prize - A days' sailing with Jim Mcgregor on Premier Flair, an Elan 410.
"We had a wonderful sail on Saturday.
Jim and his wife were very hospitable and generous with their beautiful yacht. We motored to Beaulieu (no wind) then to the amazement of the collected Bavaria owners who were under engine, tacked up the river silently to have lunch at Buckler's Hard.
Jim and Chris, having survived children of their own, were fantastic at getting our three young ones involved in bumping halyards, grinding and steering. Tom even managed to master the touch screen on the GPS! I hope that as a result, ours will be as successful on the water as theirs have been.
It is a lovely yacht - comfortable for cruising, but with a powerful rig and sensitive helm also a pleasure to sail.
We had a really great day and Jim encouraged us to treat the yacht as our own (though sadly, just for the day!."
